Selecting a vehicle
Seating:
All cars have seats for five people. The smaller Cars will not be comfortable for more than two people; we have listed the groups with suggested comfortable seating.
If you wish to carry more than five people then you should consider a Group L People Carrier. People Carriers will take up to five adults and two children for a total of seven. Be careful in choosing this group with a seven seat configuration, as rear leg space will be restricted and luggage space will fit only one small case! This Group can have the two rear seats folded down and will take five people in great comfort with five cases.
For maximum seating, Group K Minibus will accommodate eight adults with eight cases. Minibuses are great for Golfers!
Luggage:
When touring you will have luggage with you. It is essential to book a vehicle that will accommodate your luggage in the boot. (Case size refers to average size cases) Ireland is no different from any Country, if luggage is visible; it is most likely to be stolen from an unattended vehicle. Have your luggage in the boot before starting your journey, do not wait to place it in the boot when you stop, even at remote viewing areas.
Vehicle Size:
Larger vehicles are more comfortable. Most vehicles have high performance four cylinder engines, which give good performance and good fuel consumption. Distances in Ireland are not great. Most scenic roads are narrow, and winding, and smaller cars have an advantage.
Fuel Use:
Although Fuel is sold in Litres in Ireland, fuel consumption figures are still calculated in miles per gallon M.P.G.! (It’s an Irish Thing!) Fuel consumption figures are for average driving and may vary with different drivers.
Doors:
All doors are counted. Three and Five doors include the rear hatch back door.
Vehicle model types are typical for each group.
Vehicle Group Guarantee
A specific car make or model is never guaranteed, only a vehicle within a particular group. In the rare event of the depot not having a vehicle within your pre-booked group, you will be offered a car from the next higher group at no extra cost. The Supplier may change typical vehicles in a Group as New Models and Model Upgrades occur.
Voluntary Upgrade
If, on arriving at the depot, you decide to upgrade to a higher group to that which you have pre-booked and pre-paid, you must pay an extra charge for the “voluntary upgrade”. The extra cost is calculated from the difference between the prevailing local rate of the two groups and is payable directly to the Supplier.

Driving is on the left
Ireland is well served with a network of motorways and well-paved secondary roads. Ireland is approximately 550 kilometres North to South and 300 kilometres East to West. Driving distances in Ireland are not great. Allow plenty of time for your journeys, scenic roads are winding and there is a lot to stop and see along the way. Traffic in large towns can be congested as main roads generally go through them, so allow plenty of time especially if returning to Dublin Airport.
Road Signs and Fuel
Roads signs in Ireland will be familiar, as Ireland, like most countries, use similar signs.
Petrol Stations are numerous with most opening 7 AM to 11 PM and many have 24-hour operations. Most Petrol Stations have Convenience Stores, which stock snack food and drink items.
Safe Driving
At commencement of rental, the Supplier provides each renter with a process to greatly reduce their risk of road accident. In the past seven years since they introduced this process, the companies accident rate has reduced to the lowest ever level ever recorded by the major Car Rental Insurer. No Repairs work may be carried out without the prior approval of the Supplier who will issue a Repair Purchase Order. Please ensure you keep photocopies of receipts.

The Irish Police (Gardai) and the Supplier must be notified immediately of any car accident, however minor. A report form must be completed at the time of the incident, and details taken as listed on the Rental Contract provided at the start of the rental. Additionally, the names of the Garda and operating staff with whom you made the report must be retained. Dependent on the circumstances, the company may require the renter to return to a local Depot to complete a detailed Accident report. The Supplier reserves the right not to supply a replacement vehicle.
